All Healthy Singing Is Based in Speech!

  • Do you feel like your voice has a perpetual "ceiling" that you have difficulty moving beyond?

  • Do you perceive that you spend too much energy focusing on navigating registers in your voice?

  • Do you feel you have limitations on your voice that other folks don't have?

  • Have voice lessons been frustrating, or "two steps forward, one step back"?

  • Do you find yourself distracted by the sound of your own voice?  (Actors, do you find it difficult to concentrate on acting because of being distracted by the mechanics of singing?)

  • Do you experience strain in your neck or upper body while singing or after singing?

  • Do you feel that correct, confident singing is some sort of "magic secret" that you haven't unlocked?

  • Have you found voice lessons boring in the past?

If you've answered "yes" to any of these questions, then you've come to the right place!

Jeff Cubeta is a professional singer/pianist/bandleader who sings with the highly effective speech based vocal technique learned from his voice teacher, the esteemed vocal technician Steve Sweetland.  He teaches with Mr. Sweetland's blessing.

Speech based technique is applicable to all styles of music (opera, hard rock, soul, gospel, jazz, Broadway, country, R&B, etc.)   It minimizes self-consciousness and physical struggle; and it maximizes vocal strength, stamina, and efficiency.

The technique is foolproof:

  • Helping singers understand the true function of the voice (to speak) in the context of various musical and vocal styles

  • Helping singers utilize their vocal energy in the most efficient way, and minimize waste of vocal energy

  • Providing singers with a proper vocabulary for the mechanics of the voice

  • Helping singers develop effective instincts for navigating complex vocal passages

  • Helping singers develop a go-to plan in times of vocal compromise (fatigue, illness, lack of warm-up time, distracting environments to sing in, etc.)

  • Helping singers be present and confident in their performance

  • Helping singers reclaim the energetic space to focus on their acting, their performance, their artistry

  • Minimizing self-consciousness about the voice

  • Demystifying singing technique
